Work Location: FDOT Jacksonville Office
Contract Duration:ASAP - June 30, 2028 (with possible extensions based on performance and budget approval)
Employment Type:Contract / Staff Augmentation
Work Schedule:Monday - Friday | Flexible hours between 7:00 AM - 6:00 PMOn-call and rotational support may be required.
Travel Requirement:25% - 40% travel to FDOT remote locations.
Position Summary
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is seeking an Entry-Level Customer Support Technician to provide desktop and technical support services across FDOT locations. The selected candidate will support hardware/software installation, troubleshooting, audio-visual systems, Microsoft Office 365 environments, and end-user support activities.
This role is ideal for candidates with strong customer service skills, foundational IT support experience, and a desire to grow within desktop support and infrastructure operations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide desktop support for laptops, desktops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals.
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot hardware and software systems.
  • Support Microsoft Office 365 and Windows 10/11 environments.
  • Monitor and resolve assigned service desk tickets.
  • Document technical issues, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
  • Assist with audio-visual setup and video conferencing support.
  • Perform basic network and telephony troubleshooting.
  • Support inventory management, equipment deployment, and surplus activities.
  • Travel to FDOT field offices for onsite technical support and deployments.
  • Participate in team meetings, projects, and operational assignments.
  • Follow FDOT policies, procedures, and security standards.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
Candidates must meet one of the following:
  • High School Diploma/GED with 1+ year of desktop support or workstation hardware experience
