Schedule and Location: We are located at 1717 Dufek Drive in Manitowoc, WI. Second shift hours are 2pm-10pm, Monday-Friday, with a flexible overtime schedule when voluntary or required. Our facility is environmentally controlled 365 days a year. That means team members are comfortable year-round, working in air conditioning in the summer and heat in the winter!

Position Summary

The Hose Bonding & Assembly Operator is responsible for the set-up and operation of the synthetic hose welder, hose respool equipment and assembly equipment according to specifications. 

Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  1. Must use judgement and make decisions for appropriate feeds and temperature settings to achieve proper welds and cutoffs. 

  2. Utilize test equipment to ensure quality in the Department.

  3. Must operate crimpers and assembly product according to specifications.

  4. Accountable for process, evaluation, measurement, documentation, and improvement on a continual basis to meet plant business objectives.

  5. Participate in area or process team activities and projects.

  6. Perform other duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor or Leader. 

Qualifications

  1. High School diploma or equivalency required 

  2. Machine operation experience in a manufacturing environment preferred 

  3. Mathematical aptitude and proficiency 

  4. Keyboarding skills, with some knowledge of MS Office software 

  5. Ability to operate manual and electric jack; Company will train 

  6. Measurement skills, including use of precision measuring tools and equipment 

  7. Attention to detail, and ability to troubleshoot for process and product improvement 

  8. Effective verbal communication and listening skills 

  9. Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure 

  10. Successful prioritizing and management of work projects 

Physical Requirements

Our manufacturing positions have several minimum physical requirements to ensure safety and effective job performance, including: 

  • Standing: Ability to stand for 8+ hours during a shift. 

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Ability to wear required PPE such as safety shoes, eye protection (glasses/goggles), hearing protection, safety vests, and gloves. 

  • Repetitive Motions: Frequent use of hands for tasks such as using safety scissors, bending tubing, taping tube, and connecting hose assemblies. 

  • Sorting: Ability to sort items by size, shape, and color. 

  • Physical Movements: Includes pushing, pulling, kneeling, and squatting as part of daily duties. 

  • Lifting: Ability to lift up to 45 pounds safely. 

  • Sensory Requirements: Must have the ability to perceive color accurately and hear plant paging, alarms, and other important auditory signals. 

Work Environment 

  • Manufacturing plant: Exposure to moving parts on a line, as well as moving equipment throughout the plant.
