Job description

How You’ll Contribute:

The Associate Field Engineer supports on-site commissioning and system validation by assisting with configuration, testing, and troubleshooting tasks under direct supervision. This entry-level role is focused on learning company standards, tools, and processes while developing hands-on skills in AV and basic networking systems. The position serves as a foundational step toward more advanced engineering roles within the organization.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist more advanced field engineers with system commissioning, validation, and testing activities.
  • Follow documented procedures for configuration and commissioning of AV equipment.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of AV and IP-based network systems.
  • Maintain organized documentation of field observations and testing results.
  • Prepare tools, test equipment, and materials for field use.
  • Follow safety procedures and project protocols while working on-site.
  • Participate in training sessions to build technical knowledge and system familiarity.
  • Collaborate with field teams to support successful project delivery and client satisfaction.

What You’ll Bring:

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated interest in AV or technical systems through education or hands-on experience.
  • Ability to follow directions, work in a team, and learn quickly.
  • Basic understanding of signal flow and AV system components.
  • Audinate Introduction to IP Networking for AV Systems certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Extron AV Associate certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail in field settings.
  • Willingness to travel and work on active construction or commercial sites.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • AVIXA Recognized Technologist Certificate
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365
  • DSP certification from one or more of the following manufacturers: Biamp, QSC, BSS
  • Control certification from one or more of the following manufacturers: QSC, Extron, Crestron
  • Prior experience working with AV systems, IT hardware, or low-voltage installations.
  • Familiarity with cable termination, racking, or basic system wiring.
  • OSHA-10 or other safety certifications.
