Purpose

The Data Analyst plays a key role in driving data-informed decision-making across Scotiabank by transforming complex data into meaningful insights that support business strategy, operational excellence, and customer outcomes. Working closely with business partners, data engineers, and analytics teams, you will leverage data to uncover opportunities, solve business challenges, and deliver actionable recommendations that create measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Insights

   Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, opportunities, and actionable business insights.
   Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, Excel, or similar tools.
   Translate data into clear recommendations that support strategic and operational decision-making.
Stakeholder Collaboration

   Partner with business leaders across areas such as Retail Banking, Wealth Management, Risk, and Finance to understand business needs and objectives.
   Translate business questions into analytical solutions and data-driven recommendations.
   Present findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Data Quality & Governance

   Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of data used for reporting and analysis.
   Support data governance initiatives and adherence to enterprise standards and best practices.
   Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance activities.
Advanced Analytics & Innovation

   Support predictive analytics, customer segmentation, performance measurement, and business improvement initiatives.
   Collaborate with data scientists and engineers on advanced analytics and innovation projects.
   Identify opportunities to automate reporting and enhance data processes.
What You'll Bring

Technical Skills

   Strong SQL and data querying skills.
   Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
   Advanced Excel proficiency.
