Job description

We are seeking a Buyer I who focuses on sourcing and purchasing goods and services (e.g., MRO, facilities, IT, and services) to ensure smooth business operations. Highly organized and detail-oriented individual supporting procurement activities. The ideal candidate is analytical, eager to learn, and capable of working in a fast-paced, technical setting. Entry level position which could prepare individual for future commodity manager roles.

Responsibilities:

  • Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders for indirect goods and services
  • Track order status and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery
  • Interface with internal stakeholders (e.g., facilities, IT, engineering, finance) to clarify requirements
  • Maintain procurement data, supplier records, and documentation in ERP systems
  • Support RFQ processes, supplier selection, and onboarding activities
  • Assist with pricing validation, contract administration, and cost tracking
  • Resolve routine issues related to order discrepancies, delivery delays, and invoicing
  • Monitor spend against budget guidelines and support cost control initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies and audit requirements
  • Understand and execute to procurement policies and procedures
  • Proficient on the purchase to pay process to guide internal stakeholders

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Fundamental procurement and supply chain concepts
  • Indirect purchasing categories (MRO, facilities, IT, services)
  • Data accuracy and attention to detail
  • Basic analytical and problem-solving capability
  • Good written and verbal communication
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard business systems

Experience:

  • 2+ years of relevant experience (including internships or co-op experience) in procurement, supply chain, or administrative roles
