Job Description
HII, Mission Technologies is looking for a motivated individual to fill the role of Technician 2 for their Syracuse, NY Manufacturing Operations. In this role, you will perform a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies. You will also support the daily activities of the production line and/or processing areas and help build long-term capability within the Manufacturing Organization.
Manufacturing Assembly Technician 1 - $45,000 - $60,000
Manufacturing Assembly Technician 2 - $50,000 - $70,000
This requisition is for current and ongoing needs.
Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Mechanical assembly and installation of electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies
  • Work with team members in assembly and integration of new and existing products
  • Deliver work according to quality requirements and work instructions
  • Adhere to processes and procedures to meet business and program objectives
  • Analyze and identify opportunities for process improvements
  • Efficiently operate hand tools such as drills, torque wrenches, wire cutters, wire strippers & crimpers
  • Identify and resolve tasks independently
  • Follow ESD principles and safeguarding practices
  • Able to lift 40 pounds

Minimum Qualifications
  • Technician 2 - High School Diploma or equivalent and 3+ years related experience.
  • Technician 1 - High School Diploma or equivalent and 2+ years related experience; or Associates Degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 0 years experience.
  • Ability to read and understand assembly drawings, part lists, connection diagrams, schematics, engineering sketches.
  • Ability to work with standardized procedures for high repeatability in an advanced and connected environment.
  • Ability to obtain IPC-610, IPC-620, and IPC-J-STD-001 certification.
  • Self-motivated and driven desire to succeed with minimal direction.
  • Ability to work both in a team and individually.
  • Must be familiar with hand tools such as torque wrenches, wire cutters, strippers & crimpers, and soldering.
  • Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a DoD government clearance.

Preferred Requirements
  • IPC-610, IPC-620, and IPC-J-STD-001 certification
  • Experience in soldering wires, small chips and, Circuit boards
  • Active/in-scope DOD Secret Clearance
  • Experience in the aerospace/defense industry
  • Wire harness assembly experience
