Job description

The Oswego County Energy Recovery Facility has an immediate need for a Maintenance Mechanic "A" to perform skilled mechanical work involving responsibility for independently performing a variety of mechanical, hydraulic and electro-mechanical installation, repair and maintenance tasks on energy recovery plant and related equipment. Supervision may be exercised over the work of subordinate personnel who assist in large maintenance and repair projects.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in engineering, electrical technology, or closely related field and one (1) year of experience in the installation, repair and/or maintenance of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, high-pressure steam equipment and related controls and instrumentation; OR
  • Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma and two (2) years of experience as stated above; OR
  • Possession of Certificate of completion from a Union-Company Sponsored Apprentice Program requiring at least 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and one (1) year of experience as stated above.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
  • Eligibility for a New York State driver's license may be required. If required, maintenance of license required throughout the course of employment. Ability to use a respirator must be maintained throughout the course of employment.
Pay Rate:
  • $31.81 per hour plus competitive benefit package including health, life, dental and vision insurance, and NYS Retirement.
