An entry-level electrician apprentice works under the guidance of a journeyman to learn the responsibilities and skills necessary for electrical installation, maintenance, and repair. Your duties are to install interior and exterior wiring, replace lights, test and repair lighting, meters, outlets, plugs, fans, and other fixtures, replace defective equipment, maintain tools, and assess blueprints for current electrical systems. You are also in charge of setup and cleanup of the work site. You complete an agreed upon number of hours for the apprenticeship program and use the training to further your career.
