Controls Engineer I

Position: Controls Engineer I
Location: Ontario, CA
Position Summary:

The Controls Engineer I will be responsible for supporting the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of control systems for manufacturing and industrial processes. You will work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to assist in automation projects, troubleshoot control systems, and ensure optimal equipment performance.

We are seeking a technically strong entry-level engineer who has basic programming knowledge and is comfortable writing code. While prior controls experience is beneficial, we can train the right candidate on controls-specific programming and industrial automation systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and development of control systems using PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA platforms
  • Support programming, testing, and debugging of automation systems
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to implement control system solutions for new and existing equipment
  • Troubleshoot electrical and control system issues to minimize downtime
  • Participate in system commissioning, startup, and validation activities
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and specifications
  • Assist in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system efficiency, reliability, and safety
  • Work with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, and production staff
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field
