IDRA is changing the landscape of state education advocacy by training early- to mid-career advocates to influence state laws and lead a powerful network of impacted and engaged communities.

To be eligible, fellowship applicants must:


  • Be committed to a full-time, in-person fellowship between September29, 2026, and June 28, 2027.
  • Live within about30 minutes of Austin.
  • Havedemonstratedconnections tohistorically-marginalizedcommunities most impacted by inequities in the public education system.
  • Have a demonstrated interest in education justice, through personal and/or professional experiences,and have a desire to grow knowledge about state-level policymaking.
  • Be committed to expanding access to excellent pre-K-12 andcollegeopportunities for students, particularly studentsof color, emergentbilingual students, immigrant students, students from families with limited incomes and otherhistorically-marginalizedgroups.
