Media Assistant- Classification E

Location: Creek Valley Elementary School | Status: Non-Exempt | Schedule: 7.5 Hours/Day (M-F), 9 month position


Position Summary:

With the focus to support and advance the Edina Public Schools' mission, vision and core values, the Media Assistant supports the media program team by providing media-related assistance to students and staff. The Media Assistant works in school media centers to provide operational support primarily in collection management.


Minimum Work Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of related work experience.
  • Valid Minnesota driver's license and evidence of mobility are required to travel between school district sites.

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary Range: The wage for this position ranges from $23.66 to $29.84 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Most candidates will start at the entry-level rate of $23.66 per hour. However, experienced candidates with prior work experience in a related field may be eligible for a starting rate of up to $26.19 per hour. These decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis, in consideration of the individual's experience and the school district's budget.

All employees participate in the state's largest pension program, the Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA). In addition, employees can participate in the 403(b) retirement program, with eligibility for a district match based on the terms and conditions outlined in the employee work agreement. Eligible employees also receive paid time off in accordance with the provisions outlined in the employee work agreement.
