Job description

We are seeking a safety-minded, patient, and experienced professional to join our team as a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Instructor. In this role, you will transition your real-world trucking experience into the classroom and training yard, preparing adult learners to successfully launch their commercial driving careers. You will be responsible for delivering a standardized curriculum, coaching students through hands-on maneuvers, and ensuring absolute compliance with federal and state safety regulations.

Yard Skills & Backing Training

  • Train students on vehicle awareness and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) pre-trip inspection standards. [1, 2]
  • Conduct hands-on coaching for essential range maneuvers, including straight-line backing, offset parking, alley-docking, and parallel parking. [1]
  • Manage the training yard layout to ensure a safe, organized environment for multiple student drivers.

On-the-Road Coaching

  • Provide direct, behind-the-wheel instruction to students navigating public roads, highways, and city traffic.
