What You'll Do as an Entry-Level Garage Door Installer

  • Install and assemble garage doors, overhead doors, and openers according to job specifications, manufacturer guidelines, and industry standards.
  • Prepare for each job by making sure the products and parts you need are accounted for and loaded before leaving the shop.
  • Measure installation sites accurately to help ensure doors fit properly and operate as intended.
  • Inspect completed installations, lubricate moving parts, adjust springs, tighten hardware, and confirm proper operation.
  • Remove existing doors when needed and safely operate the hand tools, power tools, and equipment required for installation work.
  • Assist with unloading deliveries and other warehouse activities as needed.
  • Serve customers professionally by answering questions and addressing concerns while working at their homes or businesses.
  • Complete job orders, installation reports, service tickets, and other required paperwork accurately and promptly.
