Job Description
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Manager of Digital Workplace Services, the Digital Workplace Engineer is responsible for supporting and maintaining core workplace technologies that enable productivity and collaboration. This role focuses on day-to-day operational tasks, basic troubleshooting, and assisting with system deployments under supervision.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Assist in deploying and configuring workplace technologies (e.g., Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive ,Outlook, and end point devices).
  • Provide Service Desk support via ticketing system for digital workplace issues, escalating as needed.
  • Maintain user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
  • Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing to enable consistent support and onboarding.
  • Supports a collaborative relationship with other teams regarding patching and updates for workplace systems, excluding server infrastructure; may include mobile device management (MDM) platforms.
  • Assist with technology transitions (e.g., domain registrar transfers, DNS updates, vendor coordination, and email migrations) to support organizational growth, acquisitions, and change.
  • Support email migration tasks, such as mailbox setup and user onboarding.
  • Perform basic administrative tasks in Microsoft Entra, including user provisioning, group membership updates, and license assignments.
  • Implement and support automations by creating scripts and leveraging APIs to streamline existing manual processes; familiarity with using AI tools to accomplish dev work.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers on project tasks.
  • Follow security and compliance protocols.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Participate in rotating on call as needed.

Travel required:
Intermittent, less than 10%.
Essential Functions:

  • Maintain and uphold the Core Values and Mission Statement of Mission Pet Health.
  • Ensure reliable operation and support of digital workplace technologies to maintain employee productivity and collaboration.
  • Provide prompt and effective Tier 1 support for workplace technology issues, ensuring positive user experiences and minimal downtime.
  • Maintain accurate user account provisioning and access controls to uphold security and compliance standards.
  • Uphold organizational policies, values, and security protocols in all work activities.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and internal customers to resolve issues and support projects.
  • Assist in after-hours maintenance windows to update, change, and install various systems as needed.
  • Engage in project work including implementation of various solutions.
  • Work with senior engineers on submitting proper change management requests to be reviewed by the change management team twice per week.

Additional Functions:
  • Assist with training internal customers on Mission Pet Health approved technologies.
  • Assist and participate in cross-functional teams and projects.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 suite, including Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Outlook, and Exchange Online.

  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Entra (formerly Azure Active Directory) for user provisioning and access management.
  • Knowledge of endpoint device setup and support (Windows, macOS, mobile).
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for network connectivity, application access, and user experience issues.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Attention to detail in maintaining user accounts, permissions, and compliance standards.
  • Ability to document procedures and contribute to knowledge base articles.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with senior engineers and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to changing environments.
  • Ability to follow established security and compliance protocols.
  • Ability to participate in after-hours maintenance windows when required.
  • Ability to implement and support automations by creating scripts and leveraging APIs to streamline existing manual processes; familiarity with using AI tools to accomplish dev work.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to support remote sites (less than 10%).

Required Education and Experience:
The education level and amount of experience required to be able to perform the Essential Functions. This includes any required certifications and licenses.
  • Associate's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Will accept any equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience in IT support, help desk, or digital workplace technologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Outlook) and basic user administration in Microsoft Entra is required.

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or related major.
  • Exposure to mobile device management (MDM) platforms such as Intune.
  • Understanding of DNS concepts and domain registrar processes.
  • Awareness of email migration tools and processes (e.g., cutover, staged, hybrid migrations).
  • Experience with automation tooling and API-driven integrations (e.g., Microsoft Graph) and familiarity with AI-assisted development tools.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
