Job Description
Summary:
The Field Engineer (Engineer) is primarily responsible for ensuring readiness of critical equipment for offshore intervention projects. The Engineer serves as a primary technical interface for customers and works with various 3 rd parties to ensure all project requirements are met. The role requires a highly motivated individual who strives to continuously improve the assets, standards, and processes of the Intervention department. The Field Engineer position is based out of Trendsetter's Houston, TX campus. Travel is required on a regular basis in support of offshore operations. The position offers bonuses and a competitive salary based on applicant's relevant experience. Qualifying entry level candidates are eligible to enroll in Trendsetter's Field Engineer Training Program (FETP).
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Generate field manuals, drawings, and procedures for assets and offshore projects.
  • Lead offshore field operations including interventions and installations.
  • Write shift/rotation handovers and generate reports for operations.
  • Lead MOC and NCR processes.
  • Provide support for intervention systems in areas including assembly, testing, repair, and maintenance.
  • Interface with clients throughout a project life cycle for interventions systems and project support topics.
  • Coordination of support with third party companies and other Trendsetter departments as required.
  • Provide input for the continued improvement of existing processes and assets. Contribute to the development of new techniques and technology in support of subsea operations.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of all Trendsetter supplied equipment.
  • Interface with Project Managers and Technician staff as required ensuring technical information is accurate and consistent.
  • Stay abreast of developments which impact the industry and Trendsetter supplied equipment such as regulatory requirements in GOM and other regions.
  • Must conform to all policies and procedures of Trendsetter Engineering, Inc.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Experience:
    • 2 years minimum experience in an Oil & Gas sector (Drilling, Completion, Production, or Intervention).
    • Experience with hydraulic or mechanical intervention systems (API 17G) preferred.
  • Education and Training:
    • Degree in an engineering related field of study (equivalent industry experience considered).
    • AutoCAD software
  • Personal Attributes:
    • Team player
    • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
    • Good communication & presentation skills; both written and oral.
    • Handle multiple projects and deadlines with changing priorities.
    • Work autonomously as well as under direction.
  • Other:
    • Position is globally deployable and will require Current Passport, Immunizations and training to be kept current as per Trendsetter travel policy.
    • Candidate may be required to travel in support of projects, up to 180 days per year.
