Responsibilities

NV5 is seeking a full-time Survey Technician, for our Alpharetta, GA office. This entry level position will assist the Crew Chief and Survey Coordinator for timely completion of assignments. Those who enjoy working outside and are looking to build a career in an exciting industry that is ever changing with the advancements in technology, should apply.

The most frequent and essential work activities include:

  • Operate the survey total station and level instruments.
  • Organize and maintain all survey field equipment.
  • Assist Crew Chief with survey files and field calculations. 
  • Transporting and setup of surveying equipment and instruments.
  • Implementing the safety plans and risk mitigation measures set forth.
  • Clear vegetation or debris as directed for surveying measurements.
  • Assist the Crew Chief in recording measurements by operating prism and level rods.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Project Manager and Group Manager.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Entry level, 0+ years of experience.
  • Ability to travel
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, clean background check and drug screening

  • Must be able to carry, lift and push/pull up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to walk over rough and uneven terrain and be able to stand up to 10-12 hours a day on occasion.
  • Must have the ability to see, smell, hear, talk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel and twist, crouch, crawl, reach, grasp, sit, stand, and walk.
  • Weekend and overtime work and/or overnight work and travel may be required.
  • Additional physical duties may be required as necessary.
