Job description

Job Title: Lab TechnicianJob Description

The Lab Technician is responsible for performing chemical and instrumental analyses on fuels, oils, and other lubricants using standard testing methods as prescribed by ASTM. The role involves preparing solutions or solvents for various tests, transferring samples within the lab, and maintaining workbooks and equipment on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis as per standard operating procedures and test instructions. This position offers the opportunity to gain analytical lab experience within an industrial lab setting focused on automotive products.

Responsibilities
  • Perform chemical and instrumental analysis on fuels, oils, and lubricants using ASTM testing standards.
  • Conduct analyses on new samples introduced to the lab.
  • Prepare solutions or solvents required for various tests.
  • Transfer samples between different areas in the laboratory.
  • Maintain workbooks and laboratory equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Manage daily, weekly, and monthly equipment maintenance tasks.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in sample preparation and handling within a lab environment.
  • Familiarity with the MS Office Suite for documentation and reporting.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations.
  • Experience in washing and maintaining laboratory glassware.

Personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided. This position does not require medical certifications.

This is a Contract position based out of San Antonio, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.50 - $15.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
