Job DescriptionOverview

The Structural EIT/Field Coordinator supports delivery of structural works for Calgary Green Line LRT project, focusing on bridges, guideways, and stations. Acting as part of the Delivery Partner team, this role represents the Owner's interests in the field, ensuring construction is executed in accordance with contract requirements, design intent, and quality standards. The role combines field coordination, technical review, quality oversight, and interface management across contractors, designers, and stakeholders.

Your role

Field Coordination & Oversight:

  • Act as the primary field-level liaison between the Delivery Partner, contractor, and design teams for structural works.
  • Monitor construction of bridges (e.g., girder bridges, segmental structures, abutments) and station structures.
  • Coordinate daily field activities to ensure alignment with construction schedules and sequencing constraints.
  • Identify, escalate, and assist in resolving field issues, clashes, and construction challenges.
  • Track and document non-conformance reports (NCRs) and follow through on corrective actions.

Interface Management:

  • Coordinate interfaces between:
    • Civil/structural works and systems (trackwork, OCS, utilities).
    • Adjacent contracts or project segments.
    • Roadworks, traffic staging, and public realm interfaces.
  • Support integration of structural works within complex urban and constrained environments.

Progress Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Track and report on construction progress for bridge and station structures.
  • Support verification of contractor progress claims.
  • Maintain accurate field records, inspection reports, and daily logs.
  • Identify risks to schedule and support mitigation strategies.
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture aligned with project and Owner expectations.
About you
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Registered or eligible for registration as EIT with APEGA.
  • 2-6 years of experience in construction or field engineering, preferably:
    • Transportation infrastructure (LRT, rail, highways).
    • Bridge construction or heavy civil structures.
    • Station or building structural systems.
  • Experience in owner's engineer/delivery partner/PMC environment is an asset.
