Pinchin is seeking an Civil Engineer Land Design to join our Engineering team in Glassboro, NJ. The role reports to the Operations Manager.
Engineering Overview
The Civil Engineering department focuses on the planning, design, and execution of land development and site design projects. The team supports drainage systems, stormwater management, and site development through technical analysis, engineering calculations, and detailed design using industry-standard software such as Civil 3D. Engineers collaborate closely with project managers, field staff, and regulatory agencies to ensure projects meet safety standards, environmental requirements, and local codes while delivering practical, compliant engineering solutions.
Your Role and Action as Civil Engineer Land Design
  • Assist in the design and development of civil engineering projects such as drainage systems, and site development plans
  • Prepare drawings, specifications, and cost estimates using engineering software (i.e. Civil 3D)
  • Conduct site visits and field inspections to monitor project progress and ensure compliance with design specifications
  • Support the preparation of reports, technical documents, and project documentation
  • Collaborate with project managers and other engineers to ensure project goals are met
  • Perform basic calculations and analysis related to site drainage and stormwater infiltration
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards, environmental regulations, and local codes
  • Participate in meetings and provide input on project planning and execution
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification or willingness to obtain it.
  • Internship or co-op experience in civil engineering or construction.
  • Basic knowledge of engineering principles, construction methods, and materials
  • Familiarity with design and drafting software such as Civil 3D or similar tools
  • Exposure to project management tools or GIS software
  • Knowledge of local building codes and regulations
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Strong writing and documentation skills
  • Ability to read technical specifications, drawings, and reports
  • Valid driver's license with access to a reliable vehicle. Work-related travel is compensated.
  • Comfortable working in both office and field environments.
  • Ability to travel to and from project sites.
  • Ability to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, and the ability to pass a company physical.
