Position Overview

YourPassion1st is seeking a detail-oriented Data Entry & Research Volunteer to help keep our youth opportunity pipeline accurate, complete, and actionable. In this role, you will perform simple web research to fill in missing detailsโ€”such as contact info, addresses, and program datesโ€”for local jobs, events, and programs.

This is a highly flexible opportunity (just ~3 hours per week) that is ideal for a college student or entry-level professional looking to gain non-profit experience, build their resume, and contribute to youth empowerment on their own schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Verification & Enrichment: Review datasets in Google Sheets, navigating to the provided web links to assist with information management and input.
  • Information Retrieval: Research and capture key details including program dates, primary contact names, email addresses, phone numbers, and physical locations.
  • Data Standardization: Accurately enter missing data into Google Sheets following standard formatting guidelines to keep our databases clean and organized.
  • Quality Control: Flag broken links, expired opportunities, or conflicting details for team review.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Tech Basics: Familiarity with Google Sheets (or Microsoft Excel) and standard web research techniques.
  • Attention to Detail: High accuracy when reading websites and transferring data into spreadsheets.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal English communication skills (comfortable occasionally clarifying details via email or phone if needed).
  • Self-Motivated: Able to work independently, manage a low weekly hour commitment reliably, and communicate progress.
  • Education: Currently enrolled in high school, college, or a trade program (preferred, but open to all applicants).
