Your Role:

Tetra Tech Inc. currently has an opportunity for an Insurance Outreach Specialist. Duties include working with insurance claims adjusters, associated claims systems, and property owners to support the request, capture, and processing of insurance claims data and payments to support the elimination of any duplication of benefits caused by a government debris removal program. Candidate needs to support operations in a fast-paced work environment, be able to make independent decisions regarding grant guidance and insurance policy provisions; must be able to understand and interpret the federal grant eligibility and activities; and perform business related research to support client needs. Candidate should work within a team to produce analysis, formulation, development and delivery of materials and results.

       Work directly with disaster survivors and insurance providers on eliminating any potential duplications of benefits between Insurance Claims and Federal Disaster Assistance.

       Establish and maintain relationships with disaster survivors, insurance agency representatives, peers, and project manager.

       Communicate to property owners and insurers the amount of duplication of benefits and associated backup documentation.

       Track, log, and file all communications, files, invoices, and e-mails in the project's data management system.

       Review insurance documentation and make determination on amount of duplication of benefits, if any.

       Data Analysis, data entry, data reconciliation and digital file organization.

       Maintains knowledge of grant programs in order to interact with applicants, federal agency representatives, peers and project manager.

       Optimize procedures and maintain communication and focus.

       Travel may be required at times. 

       Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.

       Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.

       Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.

       Additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

       Bachelor's degree and 2+ of related work experience with working knowledge of federal grant programs, specifically FEMA or FHWA programs, including related statutes, regulations, policies and processes. Four years additional industry experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.

       Understanding of and ability to determine insurance coverage of residential, commercial, and auto policies.

       Experience with outreach programs to disaster survivors, external clients, and industry representatives is required.

       Strong interpersonal communications skills.

       Solid analytical skills.

       Prior experience FEMA insurance preferred.

       Strong organization skills required.

       Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

       Time Management Skills

       Must possess professional proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically strong Excel skills) and the ability to learn project-specific computer systems as needed (specifically SharePoint, Access, and proprietary computer systems).
