These analysts are responsible for collecting, processing, and interpreting data to help organizations make informed decisions. They often use tools like Excel, SQL, and basic statistical software, and work under the guidance of more experienced data professionals. OPT allows international students to gain practical work experience in their field of study for up to 12 months (or 36 months for STEM majors).

To thrive as an Entry Level Data Analyst, you need a solid background in statistics, data interpretation, and proficiency with spreadsheet software, often supported by a bachelor's degree in a related field. Familiarity with tools such as Excel, SQL, and data visualization platforms like Tableau or Power BI is typically required. JOB DESCRIPTION

Make an impact at DTCC

The DTCC IT EDGE Program offers accelerated professional development opportunities for recent university graduates. This 18-month rotational initiative enables Analysts to enhance both technical and leadership capabilities through practical work experience and a comprehensive training curriculum.

Additionally, the program features regular networking sessions that facilitate exposure to senior leaders across the organization. Dedicated managers are available to provide ongoing coaching and support throughout the duration of the program.

At DTCC, we help power the global financial markets by providing critical infrastructure that supports the safe and efficient processing of securities transactions. In this role, you will learn how your business area contributes to that broader mission while building practical skills through meaningful work, coaching, and structured development.

About the EDGE Program

EDGE is DTCC’s 18-month early-career development program for recent graduates. The program combines hands-on business experience, structured learning, mentorship, networking, and regular feedback to help analysts build technical, functional, and leadership capabilities.

What you will gain

  • A structured onboarding experience, including Welcome Week and program orientation.
  • Hands-on experience through meaningful work aligned to business priorities.
  • Rotational experiences across relevant teams/functions.
  • Monthly learning sessions, business education, professional development, and opportunities to hear from leaders and subject matter experts.
  • Regular feedback, including a 90-day feedback and assessment milestone, manager coaching, and program check-ins.
  • Mentorship, networking, and opportunities to build relationships across DTCC.

What you will do

Role Responsibilities

  • Assist with gathering, analyzing, and documenting business needs, operational requirements, process insights, and project objectives that support technology initiatives, process improvement efforts, and organizational priorities.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, technology teams, operations leads, and project teams to understand business needs, document processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and support the development of clear project deliverables and recommendations.
  • Map current-state and future-state business processes, identify interdependencies between teams, tools, controls, data, and technology delivery activities, and help recommend improvements that reduce friction and improve execution.
  • Support Agile delivery activities through status tracking, dependency coordination, action-item management, testing support, meeting preparation, and development of materials for team, management, and leadership reviews.
  • Conduct data analysis, reporting, research, testing, and documentation activities to identify trends, develop insights, support issue resolution, and help stakeholders make informed decisions that improve operational governance and continuous improvement.
  • Support the end-to-end data lifecycle by integrating, transforming, validating, and analyzing data from multiple sources to develop reliable data assets, enable reporting and analytics, and deliver insights that support business and technology outcomes.
  • Help maintain job aids, process documentation, workflow summaries, project artifacts, and operating rhythm materials that enable consistent execution across the organization.
  • Contribute to work that improves operational efficiency, visibility, accountability, and alignment across business management, portfolio management, service delivery, and technology operations.

What will help you succeed

Required

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS, Business & Technology Management or related major.
  • Expected graduation date: May 2027
  • Minimum GPA: 3.2
  • Authorization to work permanently in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
  • Foundational understanding of business analysis, process improvement, data analysis, technology delivery, or operations, demonstrated through coursework, projects, internships, work experience, leadership activities, or relevant student organization involvement.

Preferred

  • Internship, project, research, student organization, volunteer, or leadership experience related to business analysis, information systems, technology delivery, operations, project coordination, data analysis, process improvement, finance, or risk.
  • Interest in financial services, technology, operations, risk, data, business, or the specific business area.
  • Exposure to tools or concepts such as Microsoft Office 365, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Power BI, Jira, Agile/Scrum, user stories, process mapping, requirements documentation, data visualization, workflow analysis, or technology operations.
  • Interest in understanding how business processes, technology platforms, data, controls, and operating routines work together to deliver secure, reliable, and efficient outcomes in a complex financial services environment.

What makes you successful

  • Curiosity and a willingness to learn in a complex industry.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
  • Clear written and verbal communication.
  • Collaboration, accountability, adaptability, and follow-through.
  • Ability to ask thoughtful questions, use feedback, and connect your work to team goals.

Benefits and work model

  • Competitive compensation, including base pay and annual incentive opportunities, where applicable.
  • Comprehensive health, wellness, retirement, and paid time off benefits based on location and eligibility.
