Technical Writer (Entry-level) - Full-Time Onsite

Job Overview
Title: Technical Writer (Entry-level)
Location: Buena Park, California
Type: Full-Time Onsite
Salary Range: $35.00 - $40.00 (based on education and experience)
Job Summary
Under minimal supervision, prepares customer test reports and procedures, assists with laboratory research and quality recordkeeping, and participates in the review of customer drawings and test procedures.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Analyzes test data to produce complex test reports to customer specifications including charts, test summaries, failure analysis summaries, etc.
  • Reviews environmental test processes to produce test instructions and/or procedures
  • Reviews customer drawings, test plans and test procedures for accuracy and provides input regarding lab capability
  • Assists in quality recordkeeping and research (test history, failure history, etc.)
  • Actively participates in the Quality Improvement System
  • Actively participates in Lean and 6S initiatives
  • Understand and live by Leach International's ethics and business conduct policies
  • Performs other duties as required

Basic Qualifications
  • Ability to read and interpret complex electronic schematics
  • Ability to read, interpret, and summarize test data and results
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Office, and Power Point
  • Working knowledge of sophisticated electronic measuring equipment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or Test Engineering
  • Familiarity with avionics hardware and component specifications, e.g., RTCA-DO-160, MIL-STD-202, MIL-PRF-6106, MIL-PRF-83536, MIL-PRF-83726, etc.
  • Familiarity with aerospace environmental tests such as Temperature, Altitude, Vibration, Mechanical Shock, Acceleration, etc.
