Job description

Position Summary

The Information Security Analyst supports day-to-day cybersecurity operations by monitoring security tools, triaging alerts, and assisting with incident response and compliance activities. This role focuses on developing foundational cybersecurity skills while contributing to audit-driven security operations.  

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Monitor security alerts across endpoint, identity, and cloud security tools  
  • Perform initial triage and escalate suspicious or confirmed threats  
  • Assist in incident response investigations, including occasional after-hours support for urgent security events. 
  • Produce detailed incident reporting and documentation  
  • Collect and maintain audit evidence for compliance requirements  
  • Support endpoint and identity security monitoring activities  
  • Assist with security awareness initiatives and proactive internal communication 
  • Comfortable working with ticketing systems and documenting findings 
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion 
  • Other duties as assigned 

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience/certifications)  
  • 0–2 years of IT or cybersecurity experience  
  • Fundamental understanding of cybersecurity concepts including phishing, endpoint alerts, identity risks, and suspicious user activity 
  • Strong analytical and communication skills  
  • Familiarity with Microsoft security tools (Defender, Entra ID)  
  • Basic understanding of incident response processes  
  • Entry-level certifications (Security+, SC-900)

  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards
