Job description

Job Description: This is a twelve month, tenure track faculty position with a target start date of January 4, 2027. The position requires effective teaching in neurorehabilitation and related content areas in our highly integrated and collaborative entry-level program with hybrid and residential pathways. Student advising, scholarly productivity, and service to the Department, the University, and the profession is expected.Location: GlensideEssential Functions:Teaching and Advising:Provide effective didactic instruction in neurorehabilitation and related areas within the hybrid and residential Doctor of Physical Therapy curriculum.Contribute to graduate-level instruction within the PhD program and other programs as needed.Serve as an academic advisor and mentor to students in the department's programs.Contribute to the continued improvement of existing educational programs.Research and Scholarship:Establish and maintain a productive program of scholarship with the potential to secure extramural funding.Disseminate research findings through peer-reviewed publications and national/international presentations.Mentor PhD students through all stages of their graduate studies, including serving as a primary dissertation advisor.Service:Provide meaningful service to the Department, the College, and the University.Engage in professional service activities at the state, national, or international level.Marginal FunctionsParticipate in experiential learning aspects of the curriculum.Contribute to the development of new academic, clinical, or experiential programs.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Demonstrable content and practice expertise in neurorehabilitation and related areas of practice.Demonstrated record of or clear potential for productive scholarship.A collaborative approach to research and education.Supervision:Received: Department Chair and Program Directors.Given: Department staff and student workers.Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:Academic doctorate (PhD or equivalent).Clinical experience in neurorehabilitation.Experience teaching or mentoring students in academic or clinical settings.Other Requirements: (e.g., certificates, license required):Eligibility to obtain a license to practice physical therapy in the state of Pennsylvania.Notes: Applicants should submit the following: 1) a curriculum vitae; 2) a description of their teaching and advising experience and philosophy; 3) a description of their research experience, interests, and goals; and 4) the names of three persons who will provide a recommendation.
