Job description

Join one of the top Switchgear Manufacturing Company as an Entry-Level Controls Engineer and support the projects related to Switchgear control systems and HMI systems.


Position: Entry-Level Controls Engineer

Location: Alpharetta, Georgia

Duration: 12 Months of contract with possible extension


Position’s Contributions to Work Group:

Executes engineering for design and development of technologies, components, systems, and products for generator control switchgear human machine interface (HMI) applications.


Why this Role:

This is a critical role for the AES Engineering team. Our team has been consistently developing and growing to meet the demands/needs of our customers and the automated switchgear industry.

This role will consistently challenge you to learn and grow with the custom nature of each project you complete.


Typical task breakdown:

  • Designs, modifies, develops, writes, converts and implements software-programming for generator control switchgear human machine interface applications.
  • Configures, programs and tests HMI hardware.
  • Work with Power System Engineers to validate/correct HMI programming
  • Supports HMI issues in the field and provides remote HMI installation support


Education & Experience Required:

  • Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science curriculum plus 0-2 years of experience or equivalent experience
  • 2 years Associate degree with 4+ years of experience
  • Master’s degree’s is overqualified
