This opportunity entails being responsible for preparing and analyzing financial data, trends, and performance to provide insights and recommendations to leadership. This position will involve comprehensive financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and decision support activities, enabling the organization to make informed financial decisions. May support corporate, divisions, and specific duties will vary according to where the analyst is assigned.
Responsible for preparing and analyzing financial data, reconciling General Ledger accounts and supporting various departmental initiatives. This role supports NC Turnpike Authority monthly accounting duties performed by the Financial Operations team. Analyzes data and variances with an ability to research transactions and perform specific duties as assigned.

What You'll Do:

  • Provides basic level financial reporting, forecasting, analysis, and modeling to support management decision-making.
  • Synthesizes large amounts of data into meaningful summarized reports to provide leadership.
  • Supports more experienced Financial Analysts in routine and/or basic tasks in maintaining or developing business applications with Excel and/or HNTB Enterprise Reporting Solutions.
  • Supports monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc financial planning activities.
  • Generates standard financial and business-related analysis under guidance.
  • Develops graphs, charts, and presentations to clearly show data trends and projections.
  • Analyzes issues that affect Sales, Revenue, Earnings, and Cash.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related degree, or
  • In lieu of education, 4 years finance or related experience

What You'll Bring:

  • Entry-level analyst focused on foundational understanding of HNTB processes.

  • Sound finance and business acumen
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Developing a foundational understanding of HNTB software applications and enterprise reporting platforms
  • Developing organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.


What We Prefer:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related degree and 2 years finance experience.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides basic level financial analysis including review of data and completion of General Ledger Account reconciliations to the NC Turnpike Authority detailed subledger activity.
  • Synthesizes large amounts of data into meaningful summarized reports to provide leadership.
  • Supports more experienced Accountants in routine and/or basic tasks in maintaining or developing business applications with Excel and/or data reporting
  • Supports monthly and annual ad hoc audit and financial planning activities.
  • Generates standard financial and business-related analysis under guidance.
  • Updates or develops process documentation. Able to evaluate processes and recommend enhancements or efficiencies.
  • Analyzes issues that affect Revenue, Cash, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and contractual liabilities.
  • Required to learn new systems including SAP General Ledger, Integrity (NCTA tolling operating system), and various online banking applications.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
