Job description

Job Summary Under general supervision, performs a variety of routine to somewhat complex clerical, financial, and administrative support duties which include receptionist, word processing, data entry, record keeping, filing, and other similar duties in support of the organization. The position provides general information and assistance to the organization and the public. This position may have specific department-related duties which will be included in a detailed Position Statement.

This is an entry-level position in the Justice Court performing data entry, filing, and other basic administrative duties. Potential future growth in the organization may occur. The applicant must demonstrate strict confidentiality and conformance with policies.

Beginning salary is Grade 116, Step 1 100% employer-paid PERS pension retirement, 100% health benefits coverage, vacation and sick leave, and many other competitive benefits. Distinguishing Characteristics The position is considered entry-level or trainee level, and as such provides a variety of administrative and clerical support for the organization's administrative functions at the direction of the supervisor. As experience is gained, the incumbent works more independently within established guidelines.

This position level is distinguished from higher levels in the Administrative Assistant classification series by the duties that are characterized by assignments, which can be carried out following clear guidelines and by the availability of supervision in non-routine situations. Licensing, Education, & Other Requirements Possess and maintain a valid Nevada Driver License. The ability to pass a criminal background investigation.

Any combination of training, education, and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities. A typical way to gain the required knowledge and ability is possession of a high school diploma or equivalency, and six or more months of general clerical experience performing a variety of office clerical tasks, including the use of a computer, or any combination of training and experience that would demonstrate the desired knowledge and abilities of the position.
