Reports To: Director, Corporate Work Study Program (CWSP)
Who We Are: Opening in 2009, Cristo Rey Jesuit now has student enrollment of over 500 young men and women. Cristo Rey Jesuit offers a rigorous college preparatory education available to students. of limited economic resources in the Houston area. Our unique Corporate Work Study Program places students in businesses and nonprofits where they learn the expectations of the corporate world and earn up to 50 percent of the cost of their education. Cristo Rey Jesuit belongs to the national Cristo Rey Network of schools and the national Jesuit Schools Network.

The Job: In this role, the CWS Relationship Manager will support students in their workplace, and act as a liaison to an assigned portfolio of CWSP corporate partners.
You will maintain a portfolio of student-workers who have been identified based on attendance, performance, or discipline challenges at work. You provide support to students by building high-quality, supportive relationships, and connecting with other adults in their life to help support holistic strategies for development and success. You will assist the Corporate Work-Study Program and other academic departments in data-driven decision making by collecting, analyzing, researching; and presenting data.
Purpose: A member of the Cristo Rey Jesuit faculty seeks ways to teach and model being men and women for others. He/she interacts in a positive and caring way with students by offering academic and personal guidance and takes an active position in celebrating and upholding the Catholic and Jesuit identity of Cristo Rey Jesuit.
Responsibilities: Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Account & Relationship Management
  • Build strong relationships with students, via being a model of conduct and offering guidance as they are introduced to the corporate work world, as well as building relationships with the professionals at various workplaces to ensure success
  • Serve as a liaison to an assigned portfolio of CWS business partners and manage corporate accounts through developing and maintaining working relationships with CWS supervisors and decision makers
  • Conduct site visits in accordance with Department of Labor requirements

Student Development and Feedback
  • Provide coaching and feedback to students
  • Monitor student timecard submissions for supervisor feedback
  • Assist the Manager, Professional Development in teaching CWS curriculum as needed for each grade level during designated times each semester and during the summer training

Student Performance
  • Assist the Student Development Manager with monitoring and student performance and grading
  • Assist with inputting CWS academic grades through PowerSchool

Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
  • Entry-level position, some customer relations experience is helpful

  • Analyze problems and devise effective solutions and respond to directives received from executive management
  • Ability to work well with students and the parents of students who have had trouble at work
  • Demonstrate consultative skills to resolve complex problems including escalated interactions from other peers
  • Oversee student-workers from a training and daily activity perspective as needed
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Help establish an institution that will have a real and lasting positive impact on the greater Houston community

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft & G-Suite database software; spreadsheet software; word processing software; electronic mail software; and presentation software. Familiarity with Salesforce or another customer relationship management software is a plus but not required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

  • Experience working with high school students in an urban or Catholic school setting
  • Commitment to faith-based education and holistic student development
  • A desire to learn and be part of the unique Cristo Rey mission, recognizing the educational value and financial importance of the Corporate Work-Study Program
  • Spanish and English (Preferred)
