Engineers at Lillyare responsible for:
Operating andmaintainingmanufacturing, utility, and automation systems in compliance with US and global regulations
Searching for and implementing continuous improvements
Managing capital projects (including design, construction, and start-up)
Designing and developing drug delivery systems
Designing and developing drug manufacturing processes (including scale-up and commercialization)
Designing and developing waste reduction and energy minimization processes

The positions are entry level staff engineering associate positions in our manufacturing and development organizations. Each engineer will actively contribute to the organization by building or solving complex opportunities that we face in the pharmaceutical industry. Engineers play critical roles by creating solutions for Eli Lilly and Company.
Position titles include but are not limited to Plant Engineer, Process Engineer, Project Engineer, Development Engineer,Automationand/or Control Engineer, and are available in manufacturing and development areas supporting:

Aplant engineerat Lilly makes a significant difference in the quality and efficiency of our facilities. The scope of involvement may include utility systems such as water, power, heating and cooling, air filtration, and building or room structures. A plant engineer supports facilities such as manufacturing sites, development laboratories or pilot plants, and administrative offices. The responsibilities of a plant engineerinclude:project administration for capital improvements, facility maintenance and reliability, and utility support. Additionally, a plant engineer collaborates with multidisciplinary projects teams consisting of process engineers, skilled craftspeople, utility operators, contractors, design firms, and equipment suppliers.
Aproject engineerat Lilly is integral formaintainingand improving our facilities. A project engineer leads capital projects frominitialconcept to implementation. They interact with customers to develop theprojectscope, planimplementationand qualification/validation. The project engineer is also responsible for the project's budget, timeline, andobjectives.
Aprocess engineerat Lilly is critical to continually improving the processes by which we manufacture our products. A process engineeris responsible fora specific aspect of the manufacturing process, monitoring and assessing its performance and capacity. They interact with maintenance personnel, operations personnel, technical service representatives, quality control representatives, and plant engineers to analyze issues, improveprocessesand control systems, renovate existing equipment, and specify new equipment. In addition, a process engineer contributes to safety, quality, and environmental initiatives to achieve Lilly'shigh standardsof compliance and ethics.
Aprocess development engineerat Lilly plays a key role in the development of innovative pharmaceutical products. Through working in the laboratory to a fully automated pilot plant, development engineers define and developoptimumprocesses for potential new biochemical and synthetic compounds. Some responsibilities include investigating process safety and scale-up hazards, pilot plant support, evaluating compound quality, and environmental impact.
Anautomation engineerat Lilly creates and refines essential systems for Lilly's development and manufacturing operations by designing, implementing, andmaintainingautomation systems for chemical, biological, and pharmaceutical processes. Automation engineers support all aspects of instrumentation, process control applications and information management including layout, configurations, validation, and documentation. These engineers work with a range of field devices including analog measurements, analytical instrumentation, digital devices, networkbusses, and control valves. They also replicate best practices in batch control, modeling, and simulation tooptimizeexisting processes and ensure quality and reliability of operations. They work closely with Information Technology professionals to develop information integration from the plant floor control systems to the financial enterprise resource planning systems.
Basic Qualifications:
Currently attending a BS/MSEngineering program with completion of the degree by August 2027.
Qualified applicants mustbe authorized towork in the United States on a full-time basis. Lilly will not provide support for or sponsor the following work authorization or visas for this role: F-1 OPT, F-1 STEM OPT, J-1, H-1B, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, or L-1.

$67,500 - $151,800Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
