About the Role
We are seeking a Buying Assistant to support the Women's Footwear team within Factory Stores. This role is ideal for a consumer-focused merchandising professional who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and has a passion for product, market trends, and data-driven decision-making.
The Buying Assistant will partner closely with Planning, Allocation, Lead Buying Associates, and Operations to support seasonal assortments, execute merchandising strategies, and optimize in-season business performance.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • 1-2 years of experience in:
    • Footwear or apparel buying
    • Merchandising
    • Product creation
    • Retail (vertical, multi-brand, or digital environment)
  • Experience with footwear, apparel, equipment, or other consumer products.
  • Strong understanding of current market and fashion trends, particularly within the athletic apparel and footwear industry.
  • Knowledge of retail and digital performance metrics, including:
    • Sell-Through
    • Inventory Turn
    • Average Selling Price (ASP)
    • Units Per Transaction (UPT)
  • Ability to organize work, manage multiple priorities, and support evolving business needs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to translate merchandising strategy into execution.

Important: We are specifically seeking candidates with Buying or Merchandising experience. Visual Merchandising experience alone will not be considered.
