What You'll Do

As a Distribution Field Technician, you'll play a key role in helping maintain the safety, reliability, and accuracy of electrical distribution systems. Working from our Dayton-area office, you'll travel to field locations to collect data, inspect utility assets, and support infrastructure planning and maintenance efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct visual inspections of overhead and underground electrical distribution equipment.
  • Collect, record, and analyze field data to support utility operations and planning.
  • Map and document Low Voltage Distribution (LVD) systems.
  • Identify and inventory utility equipment located on poles and throughout the distribution network.
  • Prepare minor work orders and inspection reports based on field findings.
  • Perform asset audits and inventories to maintain accurate utility records.
  • Support joint-use and permitting activities through field documentation.
  • Complete pad-mounted equipment inspections and pole analysis activities.
  • Assist with metering, apparatus services, and lighting audits.
  • Utilize laptops, tablets, GPS devices, and field software to capture and update information in real time.
  • Measure clearances and equipment locations using specialized tools such as height sticks and range finders.
  • Follow established safety standards, utility procedures, and field protocols.
  • Collaborate with teammates and office staff to deliver accurate, high-quality project results.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
