Maintenance / Utility Worker - Water Distribution
Santa Fe, NM 87508

Entry-level opportunity supporting the operation and maintenance of water distribution and production systems. Ideal for candidates with mechanical aptitude, outdoor work experience, farm or equipment experience, construction labor, utilities, landscaping, maintenance, or general labor backgrounds.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with operation and maintenance of water distribution and production systems
  • Install and repair water mains, service lines, hydrants, valves, PRVs, and water meters
  • Read gauges, meters, and control panels
  • Operate valves and equipment to control water flow
  • Perform routine inspections and minor maintenance on vehicles, pumps, and equipment
  • Change oil, grease equipment, and maintain tools and machinery
  • Dig and refill trenches; load/unload sand, gravel, and dirt
  • Maintain grounds, buildings, and facility appearance
  • Read and record water meter readings accurately
  • Maintain operational records and pump data
  • Follow safety procedures and work safely in industrial environments
  • Participate in on-call rotations as needed

Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • High school diploma or GED

Preferred Experience:

  • Basic mechanical or equipment maintenance knowledge
  • Experience with vehicles, pumps, farm machinery, or utility equipment
