Job description

Role/Purpose:
The Electronics Technician Level I (M - F 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM), utilizes tools, fixtures, and work instructions to support repair of low complexity electronic modules, Xray tanks and detectors and/or Metal Detector repair and new build production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Follow detailed work instructions, processes and procedures.
  • Diagnose, refurbish and repair product inspection equipment in accordance with Risk Assessment and Safe Mechanical and Electrical guidelines.
  • Report problems with quality, processes, equipment and material to Repair Supervisors and/or Repair Manager.
  • Document actions by completing quality checklists.
  • Work with supervision to understand our process capabilities and develop ideas that reduce costs and improve quality.
  • Provide basic hands-on job function training to coworkers as needed.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing function.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by performing and communicating in a manner that promotes good relationships with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
  • Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Accurately track and record time spent on projects.
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Perform entry level SAP Transactions.
  • Assist higher level techs as needed and learn for advancement.
  • Basic understanding of SAP processes and transactions regarding production orders.
  • Carry out tasks in one of the areas below:
Tune and Balance:
  • Tune and balance detectors coming in to repair Round, V3, V4 systems; and support new builds with supervision.
  • Calibrate equipment to meet factory standards.
  • Setup Metal detectors for testing when completed and verify performance.
  • Replace any electronic components that do not meet standard specifications.
Hardware Wiring:
  • Follow detailed work instructions to install graphite coating for Round, V3, V4 systems Metal Detector head; support installation of new builds with supervision.
  • Installation or replacement of low complexity standard head cable and associated wiring as required on remote and standard units.
  • Installation or replacement of any electronic components that does not meet standard specification.
XR Components:
  • Perform return evaluation process to diagnose, refurbish and test X-Ray generators with support/ supervision.
  • Evaluate, repair and test MT X-Ray Detectors with support/ supervision.
  • Disassemble, and perform the tank cleaning process for refurbishment.
  • Evaluate MT Flex industrial computers for repair.
  • Enter detailed QN tasks.
Module Repair:
  • Build control module customer repair and exchange with support/ supervision.
  • Build power supply customer repair and exchange repair with support/ supervision.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Basic soldering skills.
  • Ability to read schematics and drawings.
  • Experience using electronic test equipment.
  • Quality focused.
  • Basic mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Safety aware.
  • Entry level problem solving/troubleshooting skills.
  • Good time management.
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Ability to sit, stand, squat, bend, push, pull for long periods throughout the day and occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Self-starter.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
Minimum Education / Experience Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 0-2 years minimum experience in electrical and/or mechanical repair of industrial machines.
