Job Summary

Dominon Energy South Carolina has a GIS Technician vacancy in Cayce, SC. This position is hybrid with in-office days. Candidate must be available to work emergency and planned overtime.

GIS Technician I- The GIS Technician I is responsible for supporting the editing, maintenance, and creation of electric distribution data within Dominion's GIS databases. This role assists with daily operational needs by completing accurate, time-sensitive updates while following established data integrity standards and guidelines.
This position requires a detail-oriented and dependable individual who can interpret basic design drawings, perform routine and repetitive tasks with consistency, and learn established workflows. 
The GIS Technician I works closely with team members and internal stakeholders to help maintain data accuracy and support efficient processes across multiple business functions.

GIS Technician II-  GIS Technician II is responsible for performing advanced editing, maintenance, creation, and analysis of electric distribution data within Dominion's GIS databases. This role supports daily operational needs through accurate, high-volume time sensitive updates while ensuring adherence to established data integrity standards. 
This position requires a detail-oriented and adaptable professional capable of independently interpreting complex design drawings, executing repetitive tasks with consistency, and contributing to continuous process improvement. 
The GIS Technician collaborates regularly with internal stakeholders to maintain data accuracy and support efficient workflows across multiple business functions.

GIS Technician III- GIS Technician is responsible for performing advanced editing, maintenance, creation, and analysis of electric distribution data within Dominion's GIS databases. This role supports daily operational needs through accurate, high-volume time sensitive updates while ensuring adherence to established data integrity standards.

Good computer skills and proficiency working in various software applications;
Problem resolution; ability to address multiple tasks simultaneously; ability to handle changing and emerging priorities;
Analytical, detail oriented with a flexible mindset;
Knowledge of electric utility distribution systems is a plus, but not required.

GIS Technician II

2+ years of experience using GIS technology at or above introductory level;
Entry level CAD training or related experience;
Interpersonal; customer service; verbal and written communication skills;
Good computer skills and proficiency working in various software applications;
Problem resolution; ability to address multiple tasks simultaneously; ability to handle changing and emerging priorities;
Analytical, detail oriented with a flexible mindset;
Knowledge of electric utility distribution systems is a plus, but not required.

GIS Technician III

5+ years of experience using GIS technology at or above introductory level;
Solid CAD training or related experience;
Interpersonal; customer service; verbal and written communication skills;
Good computer skills and proficiency working in various software applications;
Problem resolution; ability to address multiple tasks simultaneously; ability to handle changing and emerging priorities;
Analytical, detail oriented with a flexible mindset.

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

Associate

Preferred Disciplines: Computer Science, Drafting and Design, Engineering Technology, Geography

Other discipline may be substitured for the preferred discipline listed above
