The Dental Tech – CAD Auxiliary is an entry level position that is responsible for supporting the digital production workflow by assisting in nesting, milling, and green state processing of dental restorations. This role requires basic familiarity with software, milling equipment, and post-mill handling procedures. The technician will contribute to the preparation and refinement of zirconia restorations, ensuring quality and consistency before sintering and staining stages.. Duties include but are not limited to the following:

Requirements:

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assists in nesting dental restorations using software under supervision.
  • Operates milling machines for zirconia and PMMA restorations following standard protocols.
  • Performs routine maintenance and cleaning of milling units to ensure optimal performance.
  • Monitors mill output for defects, fractures, or misalignment and report issues promptly.
  • Carefully cleans, labels, and de-sprues milled restorations in the green state.
  • Prepares restorations for sintering by starting ovens and loading trays according to schedule.
  • Cleans and matches models and partials to ensure proper fit and alignment with digital designs
  • Cleans and matches surgical guides, splints, trays, and soft tissue/placement guides for clinical readiness.
  • Maintains organized post-processing stations and follow lab safety and handling procedures
  • Additional duties and assignments as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Strong reading comprehension and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate and work well with others.
  • Basic understanding software and milling machine operation (training provided).
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail in handling delicate restorations.
  • Willingness to learn green state processing, oven operation, and shading techniques.
  • Ability to follow structured workflows and maintain a clean, organized lab environment.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to quality in a fast-paced production setting.
