Job description

The Quote Specialist provides quotes to customers by utilizing sales and technical knowledge for the preparation of quote packages.

Responsibilities:
Tasks listed are not meant to be all-encompassing:

• Prepare itemized cost estimates of products or bid requests

• Interact with the sales team, contractors, engineers, and purchasing to determine the best products to be used on the assigned projects

• Interact with manufacture representatives to obtain the best possible cost information

• Work in collaboration with, and provide support and guidance to co-workers with the mutual goal of meeting or exceeding goals and objectives

• Manage the quote process to ensure that all supporting documentation is received and submitted within the specified guidelines

• Build rapport with customers and work to ensure they receive excellent service

• Use computer databases to retrieve necessary customer and inventory information

• Provide pricing, delivery, and other order information to customers

• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers

• Report and document Non-Conformances, Corrective Actions, and Continuous Improvements

• Maintain safety and good housekeeping standards for the site

• Make decisions within the limits of general standards or procedures

• Report near misses and incidents and cooperate with investigations

• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Knowledge of product lines and pricing preferred

• Ability to work with little to no supervision

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Excellent organizational skill and attention to detail

• Proficient computer skills

Intermediate/advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word or equivalent applications

• Ability to multitask

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• 1 year of experience in customer service or order processing preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
