Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Saint Louis, MO that is seeking an Entry-Level AI Solutions Engineer that supports business teams and IT leaders in identifying opportunities to leverage artificial intelligence. This role focuses on learning, assisting with solution design, and helping build and support AI-enabled tools that improve business processes. The ideal candidate is a hardworking, self-motivated learner who is eager to grow their AI skill set and leverage modern tools like Copilot and Claude. Candidates must sit in Greater Saint Louis and go onsite at least once a week. This role is a six-month contract to hire position.
Key Responsibilities:
* Partner with business stakeholders to learn and understand business needs, participate in team meetings, and assist in gathering requirements to identify opportunities for AI solutions
* Support senior team members in evaluating and designing AI solutions or documenting requirements for other IT teams when traditional solutions are more appropriate
* Assist in designing, building, testing, and deploying AI-powered tools such as Copilot agents and other automation solutions
* Help support and maintain AI solutions in production by troubleshooting issues, refining prompts, and assisting with updates to workflows
* Monitor usage and adoption of AI tools, track basic metrics, and help prepare reports and insights for stakeholders
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions align with security, governance, and compliance standards
* Document processes, solution details, and lessons learned to support continuous improvement and knowledge sharing
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Technology, or a related field
* 0-2 years of experience (internships, coursework, or hands-on projects acceptable) in AI, data, or software-related work
* Foundational understanding of AI concepts such as generative AI, large language models, and basic prompt design
* Strong willingness to learn new technologies and adapt in a fast-paced environment
* Experience or familiarity with AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, or similar platforms
* Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences
* Strong work ethic with a proactive, detail-oriented, and dependable approach to assigned tasks
Preferred Skills:
* Exposure to Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Azure AI, or similar tools through projects, coursework, or internships
* Basic understanding of data privacy, security, and responsible AI practices
* Familiarity with process improvement or workflow documentation
* Self-starter who actively explores new technologies and leverages AI tools (such as Copilot or Claude) to enhance productivity and learning
* Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
