Job description

ABOUT THE ROLE

The ENTRY-LEVEL CAD Technician is responsible for preparation of production drawings, small scale erection drawing revisions, and project coordination used for fabrication and installation of precast concrete products. This position supports the department in maintaining internal scheduling for project requirements and deadlines.

Salary range $23.00-$27.00 an hour. Based on experience.

WHAT YOULL DO

  • Maintaining Project data flow from the Revit Model to Concrete Vision
  • Revises erection drawings as necessary
  • Create/revise individual pour sheets for Production to produce each piece needed
  • Maintain Project Flow, following target dates as established by the D&E Team
  • Follows departmental standards and practices
  • Completes special projects as requested and performs other duties as assigned

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Associate degree in drafting degree preferred
  • Interpersonal communication skills to work in a team setting, as well as in a 1-on-1 environment
  • Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently
  • General math skills and ability to read blueprints and plans
  • Basic understanding of general construction practices
  • Ability to meet deadlines and follow project schedules
  • Motivation and self-drive are required to complete a task
  • Ability to use Revit along with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and other computer software programs
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and able to work on more than one project at once.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Occasional visits to active plant and field locations are required based on operational needs.
  • Ability to wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required while in the plant and field.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and navigate active plant and field environments as needed.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, walk on uneven surfaces, and safely move through industrial work areas.
  • May be exposed to moving equipment, machinery, and other standard industrial hazards.
  • May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, rain, as well as noise, dust, and vibration.
