Description
The Department of Mathematical and Computational Sciences at The College of Wooster invites applications for two visiting Assistant Professor of Computer Science to start in August 2023. Primary responsibilities include teaching five introductory and advanced courses in computer science and directing student independent study projects. Applicants in all areas of computer science will be considered, and those in the following areas are particularly encouraged to apply: databases, graphics and augmented reality, computer networks and security, operating systems, computer organization. A Ph.D. in computer science is preferred, but ABD applicants also will be considered.
Our department has fourteen full-time faculty and offers undergraduate majors in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Statistical & Data Sciences, graduating 50-65 seniors each year. CS draws a diverse group of students including many internationals, students of color, and about 30% women. We place a strong emphasis on experiential learning, with every student completing a year-long senior thesis project and many participating in our unique Applied Methods & Research Experience summer consulting program.
