Job description

Day Shift: 5:00AM-3:30PM

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inspects and measures parts using precision measuring equipment to determine conformance to material specifications. 
  • Prepare and maintain quality verification documentation. 
  • Use visual inspection techniques (VT) as well as Ultrasonic testing (UT) and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) to perform non-destructive tests to identify errors or defects in product.
  • Interpret and evaluate inspection results for welding fit-up and filler metal placement with respect to applicable codes, standards, and specifications, be able to set up and calibrate all testing equipment.
  • Oversee welder qualification tests and evaluate welder performance.
  • Studies and interprets sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of parts to determine conformance requirements. 
  • Communicates with supervisor, engineers, production control, sales, customers, compliance agencies and other shop personnel for quality and customer related issues. 
  • Within the scope of the job requirements, will be required to adhere and comply with state and federal law, the Company ISO Quality Program and procedures, Company policies and Safety and Environmental Regulations. 
  • Overtime is expected and required to meet production goals as needed.
  • May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES’

  • Working knowledge of industrial processes and traditional quality control methodologies.
  • Intermediate knowledge with computer software to include, but not limited to: Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Entry level customer service skills in managing difficult client, vendor, audit agencies or customer situations by responding promptly to requests.
  • Intermediate problem-solving skills to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Good organizational and planning skills in order to prioritize and plan work activities efficiently.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Current Certification as AWS-CWI
