Position Summary: 


 The Calibration Technician performs calibration and testing of the company's flow measurement products under the supervision of the Calibration Lab Supervisor. This entry level role is responsible for setting up test equipment, collecting and verifying data, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring products meet quality and safety standards in a manufacturing environment.


Essential Job Functions

  • Set-up test rigs by installing assembled product in various test rigs.
  • Obtain verification from co-worker of correct set-up.
  • Set calibration, including manual and automated flow data collection.
  • Troubleshoot problems in set-up or data acquisition system, correct as appropriate.
  • Monitor test results during test and verify final results.
  • Set-up and run simultaneous test rigs when possible.
  • Perform verification of co-worker test rigs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Safety Responsibilities

  • Understand and support the company's quality policy and applicable elements of the quality management system.
  • Take responsibility for reducing, eliminating, and preventing quality deficiencies, including product escapes.
  • Initiate action to prevent nonconformities related to products, process, or quality systems.
  • Identify quality issues and elevate concerns through appropriate channels for corrective action.
  • Exercise authority and responsibility to uphold quality standards in daily work.

Quality Responsibilities

  • Understand and support the Quality Policy and applicable elements of the Quality Management System relevant to assigned work areas.
  • Take proactive action to reduce, eliminate, and prevent quality deficiencies, including product or process escapes.
  • Initiate actions to prevent nonconformities related to products, processes, and quality systems.
  • Exercise responsibility and authority to identify quality concerns and elevate issues for timely resolution within the quality system.

Communication

  • Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Maintain professional, constructive, and collaborative working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Requirements

Essential/Preferred Skills:

  •  1 or more years' experience working in a manufacturing environment or demonstrated proficiency in advanced mathematics will be considered in lieu of experience.
  • Advanced classes in math, chemistry, electronics or physics typically obtained at a junior college level is preferred, with demonstrated proficiency in math.
  • Must be able to demonstrate a mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Must demonstrate ability to follow verbal and written directions/work instructions, and produce quality work while maintaining focus and sense of urgency.
  • Must be computer literate and able to demonstrate ability to use excel as well as ability to perform data input.
  • Must be able to use tools such as wrenches and screwdrivers.


Work Conditions and Physical Requirements: 

This position requires sitting 50% of the time.  Standing and walking are required up to 50% of the time.  Manual dexterity required in skills for typing, using wrenches, screwdrivers, or other similar tools up to 5% of the time.  Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
