Job description

Seeking a CAD Technician to create and update client drawings, maintain drawing accuracy, and support communication across project teams. Minimal drafting experience required; experience with AutoCAD or similar drafting software preferred. This is a mostly remote position with occasional client meetings.
Preference will be given to candidates located within a 2-hour radius of Marlborough, MA.
What You'll Do:
  • Produces new and updates existing CAD drawings
  • Ensures accuracy and consistency of updates to client network in accordance with project standards, procedures and processes.
  • Reads and understands project specifications, procedures, and requirements as necessary.
  • Becomes proficient in utilization of project specific CAD software and associated applications as quickly as possible.
  • Interfaces with other staff members to ensure efficient work management and consistency in standards, procedures and processes.
  • Incorporates quality feedback into daily production processes to ensure high quality work output.
  • Completes required status forms and timesheets.
  • Identifies problems on Source Material and informs appropriate project members of assistance in their resolution as required.
  • Meets all project targets and quality expectations within 90 days of hire and ongoing after that.
  • Interfaces with team leads as required ensuring consistency in project specifications, standards, procedures and techniques.
  • Develops ongoing proficiency on assigned hardware/software; participates in applicable training programs to acquire knowledge of applicable specifications and procedures
  • Strong written communication skills, including professional email correspondence with clients.

Required Qualifications:
  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Basic Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) knowledge, including AutoCAD and/or MicroStation software and applications (experience with other technical software will also be considered).
  • Basic Computer Assisted Drawing and Design skills with a knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and other trail point and layer-based drawing applications is desirable.
