Duties, Responsibilities & Other

The CM in Training supports roadway and bridge construction projects. This role assists with directing inspection and material testing efforts across various projects. This role has a strong educational foundation in construction management principles and should be eager to continue to develop their skills in a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities include:

      Support the oversight of project budgets and participate in quality assurance of contractor work to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.       Assist in preparing monthly and final cost estimates, and composing contract change orders to ensure accurate and timely financial tracking.       Maintain accurate and organized documentation to ensure all project records are up to date and easily accessible.       Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, contractors, and designers to facility smooth project execution and resolve any issues that arise.       Availability for day and/or night work to support the contractor's schedule.

Qualifications

Education and/or Skills Required:       This is an entry level position.       Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field from an ABET- or ACCE- accredited institution.      Ability to understand construction plans, specifications, and procedures.       Demonstrate basic math skills, including geometry and trigonometry.       Possess the ability to read, write, and communicate fluently.       Work effectively as a team member and complete daily reports by hand and computer.       Ability to establish strong working relationships with various stakeholders.

Education and/or Work Experience Preferred:       Previous internships or work experience in the construction or engineering fields.

Certificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Required:      Valid Driver's License       Ability to maintain required certifications.
