As one of the newest Chenega companies, Chenega Defense & Aerospace Solutions (CDAS) was developed with the purpose of providing expert Engineering and Technical Support Services to federal customers. 

The Mail Clerk will process incoming and outgoing mail and ensure mail is handled, sorted, distributed, and that accountable mail is safeguarded. The Mail Clerk will also be tasked with maintaining accurate records of mail and packages received and sent. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for distributing mail to organizational boxes and delivering mail and parcels outside the restricted area.
  • Safeguard and protect all mail and administrative communications in accordance with regulations.
  • Secure undelivered certified, registered, and Express Mail, items shipped through the General Services Administration's overnight contract carrier, items bearing DoD accountable container numbers, and similar items in a government provided container approved for storing SECRET material.
  • Immediately report the loss or possible compromise of accountable material to the 50 FSS Security Manager, the CORS, the OMM, and the Contracting Officer.
  • Maintain electronic records for all accountable mail, including Certified Receipts, Certified and Registered logs, DD Form 2825, Internal Receipt and PS Form 3883-A, Firm Delivery Receipt to establish a chain of custody.
  • Scan all paper files into the electronic records.
  • Provide USPS mail transportation for Schriever SFB. The Contractor shall pick up USPS mail from the Peterson Official Mail Center (OMC) between the hours of 0930 and 1100 on Tuesdays and Thursdays, excluding holidays.
  • Provide customer service and transfer accountable mail using the DD form 2825 between action offices for base customers.
  • Help customers on policies and procedures concerning all services and programs.
  • Other duties as assigned
