Position summary:

This position is responsible for marketing, promoting and profitably selling products and services to existing and potential customers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs personal sales calls at customer sites on a regular basis and at job sites, as necessary, complying to safety regulations always.
  • Seeks out prospective customers/business opportunities with new and existing customers.
  • Stays current on existing and emerging products and technologies, attending and presenting product training classes as required to develop superior product and application knowledge.
  • Introduces and demonstrates new products to assigned accounts.
  • Creates and processes quotes and regularly follow up to assure the customer is being serviced to company standards
  • Generates profitable sales orders.
  • Works with customers, Purchasing Inventory Manager, Warranty Clerk and/or Purchasing Clerk to process warranty and non-warranty return material requests.
  • Processes A/R debit and credit memo requests to resolve billing issues.
  • Works with inside sales, purchasing, service department, warehouse, manufacturers, suppliers and customers as necessary to ensure resolution of customer concerns or issues.
  • Records in CRM system details of customer interactions or transactions, inquiries, complaints, or comments, as well as actions taken.
  • Completes sales calls and expense reports on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy.
  • Executes sales efforts in an ethical and professional manner, assuring a favorable impression of self, company and suppliers represented by the company.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with manufacturers, suppliers, engineers, contractors, end users and wholesalers to grow profitable sales.
  • Informs customers of all relevant policies, procedures, programs and initiatives. Report customer feedback to management.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in Engineering from a four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer skills required:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general internet functionality required.
    • Proficiency utilizing Enterprise software preferred (Prophet 21 by Epicor). Training can be provided.
  • Other skills required:
    • Fully trained in all product lines that the company represents, in company policies, OSHA safety standards, and other functions as required.
    • Excellent customer service skills with a strong desire to go above and beyond to exceed customer expectations.
    • Strong technical aptitude.
    • Strong relationship building and networking capability.
    • Understanding of HVAC systems and equipment preferred.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and technical submittals a plus.
    • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
