Job Summary:

Responsibilities:
• Managing day-to-day assignments and work priorities
• Creating, prioritizing, planning, and tracking the progress of projects
• Researching new technology, techniques, threats, and industry best practices
• Collaborating with infrastructure, development, and portfolio teams to meet business needs
• Recruiting, training, and managing a team to achieve high-performance results
• Coaching, mentoring, training, and motivating a team
• Providing 24x7 support on critical systems in an on-call rotation
• Building and deploying our customized applications (Fastenal.com, WEBPOS, WMS used by customers, our sales representatives, and Warehouse Employees) written in JAVA, MS DotNet, and C++ to Test and Production environments that are used by Fastenal's Customers, Store Employees, Warehouse employees, and Vendors
• Automating deployments on JBOSS, Web Logic, and IIS, which provides more accurate and faster delivery of our applications to end-users
• Implementing, Managing, and administering our Continuous Integration and code review using the tools JIRA, Fisheye, and Crucible, which helps teams to plan, manage, and report on their work and helps software development life cycle
• Automating, Building, and Deploying processes for generating digital certificates for securing Fastenal's Internal and External websites to prevent insecure access to our website and ensure secure communication
• Implementing Load Balancers like HAPROXY that are used to distribute load amongst backend servers which allows better use of infrastructure and less risk for our Websites and Applications
• Implementing Taxware Systems that integrate with our HR/Financial systems and allow us to calculate Taxes for all Customer locations and employee paychecks
• Implementing multiple environments for Vending Systems for QA/Development Team to run through SDLC and improve code quality and functionality for our customers
• Implementing Cost Savings Deployments to automate the deployment process
Qualifications:
Required:
• Employer will accept a 3-year or 4-year bachelor's or equivalent degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field plus 3 years of work experience in IT systems engineering or administration.
• Experience designing and implementing complex IT environments
• Scripting experience (Bash, PowerShell, Python, or others)
• Demonstrated knowledge of DevOps technologies and tools (Jenkins, Octopus, TeamCity, Azure DevOps, Ansible, Puppet, Jira, Bitbucket, and Confluence)
• Previous leadership experience
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrate strong organization, planning, and prioritizing abilities
• Exhibit strong problem-solving, deductive reasoning, and decision-making skills
• Work independently as well as in a team environment
• Highly motivated, self-directed, and customer service oriented
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail, math aptitude, and a sense of urgency
