Job Summary:

Provides technical support to control system projects and service teams. Listens, takes direction, and seeks guidance from the assigned project leads, supervisors, and company leadership. Travel to client locations for installations, maintenance, or repairs of control systems.

Education and Experience:
  • Associate in Applied Science or Associate in Science in Engineering Technology, Computer Information Systems Technology, relevant curriculum or experience.
  • Typically, 0-3 years of industry experience
Duties and Responsibilities: Technical Responsibilities:
  • Assist in project installation, start-up and commissioning of control systems.
  • Perform instrument loop checks and calibrations.
  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of control systems.
  • Assist in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
  • Wire instruments and control panels.
  • Develop basic understanding of Human-Machine Interface (HMI) and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) applications.
  • Develop startup and troubleshooting skills with Human-Machine Interface (HMI) applications.

  • Read and interpret piping & instrumentation diagrams and wiring diagrams.
  • Practice procedures outlined in the companyโ€™s Quality Management System (QMS).

  • Develop basic understanding of Information Technology (IT) system, network infrastructure, and computer system design, as it relates to control system integration.

Project Responsibilities:
  • Complete assigned tasks accurately, on schedule, and under budget.
  • Understand the scope of work assigned to you, identify when issues arise that are beyond that scope, and communicate those issues to the assigned project lead.
Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Able to solve problems.
  • Maintain professional relations with co-workers, offer assistance to co-workers when possible, ask for help and guidance from coworkers when necessary, and always treat co-workers with respect.
  • Proficient in Microsoft operating systems and Office tools.

  • Proficient with multimeter, signal generators, and other hand tools.

  • Know how and when to use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Promotes a positive/collaborative team culture.
  • Up to 100% of time spent at customer locations with overnight travel up to 60%.
On Call:
  • On call rotation participation may be required based on location and client needs.
