Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus 1 year of relevant work experience; or Master's degree
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:
As a Software Engineer for the Common Weapon Launcher and Multi-Tube Weapon Simulator Hardware Test Team, you'll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for designing and developing software and firmware supporting the U.S. Navy's platforms within the Tactical.
We are ready to hire a software Engineer to develop embedded software and firmware on the Common Weapon Launcher Hardware Test Team. As a member of a cross functional team responsible for designing and developing software and firmware supporting the U.S. Navy's most advanced submarines. This role will be heavily focused on interfacing between custom electronics and software.
What you'll experience:
  • Develop C applications interfacing directly with custom electronics
  • Create and implement network interfaces between firmware and software
  • Maintain and troubleshoot existing firmware and software
  • Review and develop test procedures
  • Work across teams to design and improve interfaces
  • Participate in peer reviews
  • Perform unit testing and support integration and test activities

What you bring to the table:
  • A foundational understanding of engineering concepts, principles, and theories
  • Familiarity with the software development process from academic or professional experience
  • Experience with C and other programing languages
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with Linux and FPGAs
  • An interest in real-time systems or low-latency data management
  • Familiarity with using Agile processes is a plus
  • Familiarity with Network communication is a plus
  • Familiarity with NI LabWindows is a plus
