Job description

Engineering Dept. Documentation Specialist - Entry level

Summary/Purpose

Create and maintain control plan documentation (PFMEA, MQC, ECCS, FSCS, etc.), create TIS (technical instruction sheets) per engineering criteria as well as new product launch activities such as spare part registration. Prepare and submit purchase requisitions for engineering materials, tools, and services.  Support engineering staff with data entry, reporting, and internal communications.

Essential Duties and Accountabilities:

•   Create and maintain quality control plan documentation (PFMEA, MQC, ECCS, FSCS, etc.) per PE direction.

•   Create and maintain status reports for management review (PE MOC, process deviation status, etc.).

•   Maintain process sheets, route to engineering for revision, make necessary changes.

•   Maintain PE ECR / PCR documentation status.

•   Create purchase requisitions, search PO status, create capital project status reports, etc. within ERP system

•   Contact outside vendors for quotations

•   Responsible for PE document room organization and 5S.

•   Responsible for 5S in their area

•   Travel as needed.

•   Other duties as assigned by management.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

•   Proficiency in mathematical and grammatical skills

•   Ability to professionally create reports and other documents with a high detail of accuracy

•   Strong verbal and written communication skills

•   Proficient computer skills, especially Excel, Word, SolidWorks.

•   Familiar with AIAG core quality tools & documentation

•   Strong organizational skills, able to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks.

•   Self-motivated and able to work without close supervision in a fast-paced environment.

•   Basic knowledge of applicable quality, health, safety, and environmental management systems

•   Ability to work overtime as needed.

Education and Experience:

Associate’s degree in a relevant field preferred or High School Diploma/GED with equivalent relevant experience
